The first project of phase 1 of the restoration has now been completed, with two stone buttresses built by Valentin and his helpers now supporting the church tower. The photographs show the work in progress and also the finished buttresses. The huge importance of this first work is that the iconic bell tower has now been saved from a collapse that seemed imminent. In the next project the stonework of the belfry itself will be re-pointed. The third project of phase 1  will be to secure and repair the cracks in theNorth wall of the church, also visible in the photos.
