Views of the village
Bujalcayado nestles on a hillside springline, between grazing uplands and the fertile valley below. Approached either off the Siguenza road or via the unpaved “Ruta de don Quixote” up from the valley and passing the Salinas, the village faces South so, when first seen, its oasis of trees and mosaic of fallen stonework is typically bathed in sunlight. From almost any angle, the outstanding feature of the village will be the iconic belltower of the church, perhaps outlined against the acrylic blue of the Castillian sky.
